WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

My practice is currently virtual-only. I practice via telehealth in Maryland and New York.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Yes. And if I'm not in network with your insurance, I can provide you with all the paperwork you need if you wish to be reimbursed by your insurance company. If you are a student or are part of a group plan, there's a good chance that you'll be reminbursed for a large percentage of the fee. I am currently in-network with Aetna, Anthem, BCBS, Carefirst, Cigna, Empire, Medicare (but not all Medicare managed plans), Optum, Oscar, Oxford, and United HealthCare.

HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?

Some people prefer to start things slowly by meeting every two weeks, whereas others like to jump right in with multiple meetings per week. Some people find that we work really well together, but financial limitations prevent them from attending sessions weekly. In such cases, I work with clients to accommodate them, perhaps meeting less often, so that we can still work together.

HOW MANY TIMES WILL WE MEET?

For as long as we decide that the treatment is beneficial for you.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

I require 24 hours advance notice of cancellations. If you cancel late or miss a session, I request that you pay for the missed session. I believe this is common courtesy and shows respect for my time and yours.

WHAT KIND OF APPROACH DO YOU UTILIZE IN THERAPY?

My approach can be described as experiential with psychodynamic sensitivities. This means that on one hand it's important to become aware of your past, especially your early childhood, and to understand how this has affected your emotional development. On the other hand, simply becoming aware of and talking about the past is not enough. It is important to learn how to address your thought patterns and to feel your feelings, to experience them, in order to heal in the present.
